Shields, the boxing champ, was chilling in a “boxing circle” with icons like J Prince and Zab Judah, and her man, rapper Papoose, when the comedian, Gerald Huston, tried to pull a fast one.
Huston, known for his viral vids where he misidentifies celebrities, thought it’d be hilarious to shout, “Oh my God, there goes Serena!” referring to Serena Williams.
But this time? Epic fail.
“The guy walks up to me with no phone in his hand or nothin’,” Claressa explained. “He was like, ‘Serena! Serena!’ We all looked at him like, ‘Bro, what are you even doing?'”
Shields tried to dip, but Huston kept at it, calling her Serena. That’s when Papoose stepped up, real quick.
“Now, this is where my man, my man, my man, Pap, was like, ‘Aye bro, chill out. She said that’s not Serena, leave her alone,'” Shields recounted.
Apparently, Huston didn’t get the memo and kept pushing it—allegedly leading to a swift, physical reminder that Papoose doesn’t play when it comes to his woman. Some lines you just don’t cross, you know?
While Shields kept it classy with the deets, Huston later posted a video showing marks on his face, confirming Papoose had indeed checked him. “Play silly games, win silly prizes,” he mumbled.
