The rapper casually started the stream while his wife was in the middle of pumping breast milk. Yes, you read that right! During a sweet — and hilarious — moment caught on camera, Ashanti was seen pulling a sheet over her face while Nelly leaned in close, trying to capture the moment.
“She’s pumping milk for KK. She don’t want y’all to see,” he joked. Meanwhile, Ashanti burst into laughter and playfully tried to snatch the phone from his hands. The couple gave fans a peek into parenthood, nearly a year after welcoming their first child together — a baby boy named Kareem — on July 18, 2024.
Meanwhile, Nelly couldn’t resist cracking jokes and bringing the energy, cutting up on camera like it was 2003 all over again. Their Journey Into Parenthood
As previously covered by BlkCosmo, in July 2024, Ashanti and Nelly welcomed their son, Kareem Kenkaide Hayes. In addition to being a father to Kareem, Nelly has two biological children and has taken on the role of guardian for his niece and nephew after the passing of his sister in 2005. Ashanti is a first-time mom.
The singer previously shared that she had frozen her eggs before getting pregnant, explaining that she wanted the option “just in case.” She also described her son as her “best friend” and “the sweetest angel baby,” noting that he always makes her smile and laugh. Reflecting on her journey to motherhood, Ashanti revealed that she had been manifesting marriage and children, but never imagined it would unfold with Nelly. “I just kept saying, ‘Send me my person, whoever it’s supposed to be, just send them.’ And he sent him!” she added.
Although the public first learned of the couple’s marriage last June, official records reveal that Ashanti and Nelly tied the knot on December 27, 2023. While they’ve kept a low profile, their bond appears to deepen as they navigate this new chapter of their lives together.
