Prayers are pouring in for Samuel Monroe Jr., best known for his role in the ’90s classic Menace II Society, after news broke that he’s currently hospitalized in serious condition.

According to family members, the 52-year-old actor has been on life support in a Southern California hospital for the past several days while battling Meningitis, a potentially life-threatening condition that affects the brain and spinal cord. The entertainment community and fans are sending support as he fights through this critical moment, with Menace II Society remaining one of his most iconic roles.

At this time, his prognosis remains unclear, with loved ones receiving daily updates from medical staff as they hope for improvement.

Samuel’s mother took to Facebook to share an emotional message, asking for prayers and support during this difficult time. “God don’t make no mistakes, but he is gracious, and I am humbly asking for his mercy and grace for Sam,” she wrote. “I love you, son, to the moon and back 100 times.”

Beyond his breakout role, Samuel built a solid career with appearances in several notable films and TV shows, including Tales from the Hood, Set It Off, The Players Club, Out All Night, and NYPD Blue. He also appeared in the Wayans Brothers’ cult comedy Don’t Be a Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice in the Hood.
