Iβm sorry, the African in me needs to understand which yam. Americans have a yam that is like a potato, but our yam is different. I still have not had an American yam and I was born and raised in the states …. π©

I prefer sweet potatoes to yams. Sweet potatoes have a smoother texture and I my opinion taste better
@queen_of_jay4k culturally in the American south, yam and sweet potato are synonymous…that’s why people are confused…most are not familiar with the african yam…most of our farmers grow sweet potato not yam. When we refer to yam it is a cadied version of sweet potato
Sweet potatoes and yams are NOT the same…they are prepared differently lol
@dmnq85 @beautifulone_14life I am a little amazed by how many people do not know the difference. Just imagine the confusion when we add in potatoes from other countries. But I mainly eat yams.

My biggest issue is I hate most foods! I only like a few vegetables and only raw…I won’t touch it if it’s cooked.

Wtf since when & where tf are the labels on your fruits & vegetables?
It’s a totally different a yam is more than 10 times bigger than a sweet potato but most stores sell sweet potatoes as yams
Gotta try African Yams..
