Black Professor’s Death After Plagiarism Probe

Jason Arday became Cambridge University's youngest Black professor in 2023, overcoming autism, dyslexia, and developmental delay to reach the pinnacle of British academia. However, after allegations of plagiarism and questions about his doctoral thesis emerged, he resigned in August. At 41, he was found dead in South London shortly after. His family stated he was subjected to sustained abuse during the scandal, which proved too much for the accomplished scholar.
