After years of wishing, wondering, and asking, A Different World is finally heading back to Hillman. The highly anticipated reboot premieres September 24, and the excitement around its return is real. The show will debut with all 10, 30-minute-long episodes, so viewers can binge the entire season at once. The new series centers around Deborah Wayne, Whitley and Dwayne's youngest daughter, and follows her journey at Hillman College alongside a new generation of students reflecting the breadth of Black life on campus.

The show became important for giving young Black viewers real conversations about HIV and AIDS, colorism, date rape, domestic violence and more.

The 78th Primetime Emmys are about to celebrate TV history live from Los Angeles on Sep. 14. With so much groundbreaking television showcased year after year, it's hard to believe that some Black shows and artists considered essential parts of the culture never received award recognition from the Television Academy. Ted Lasso is officially back for its fourth season. While familiar characters made their grand return to the show in the premiere episode on Wednesday, there were a handful of surprising nods to Black culture that delighted fans. The first comes near the top of the show after Lasso is called into the principal's office at his preteen son Henry's school to discuss a disturbing poem he wrote. By the time he and his child's mother got there, they had to stifle their laughter while listening to the words. The joke here is their son's poem was actually him just writing down the lyrics to Public Enemy's 1988 song Black Steel in the Hour of Chaos.

David Jonsson will take on the role of T'Challa's son in Black Panther 3, introducing another Black British powerhouse to Hollywood. Black British talent has steadily dominated the industry, from Chiwetel Ejiofor leading horror films to Aaron Pierre becoming the face of DC's Lanterns. Other notable Black British actors making waves include Naomi Ackie, Tosin Cole, and Cynthia Erivo, who earned an Oscar nomination for Wicked. Veterans like Idris Elba, Daniel Kaluuya, and Lashana Lynch continue commanding major roles across franchises. Emerging stars like Damson Idris and Regé-Jean Page are solidifying their status as leading men in Hollywood.

Ice-T's heating his TV career back up because after a part-time role on season 27 of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, he promises fans will see him in every episode of season 28.
