Patrick Xavier Clark, the alleged killer of Migos rapper Takeoff, is scheduled to appear in court on February 25, as per new court documents. The murder trial has been moving slowly, more than two years after Takeoffβs tragic death during a shooting outside 810 Billiards and Bowling in Houston, Texas.
Takeoff, described as an innocent bystander, was fatally shot during an argument over a dice game. Police arrested Clark a month later and charged him with murder. Cameron Joshua, another individual, was arrested on weapons charges related to the incident. Clark was released on a $1 million bond in January 2023, and a grand jury later indicted him on murder charges.
Clarkβs attorney has maintained his innocence, emphasizing that the indictment met a low standard of proof. βWhen we get inside a courtroom and in front of a juryβ¦ we expect the jury will come back with a verdict of not guilty,β the attorney stated.
The case remains unresolved, with no clear timeline for the trialβs start. Meanwhile, Takeoffβs legacy continues to be honored by those close to him. Earlier this month, Cardi B and Quavo shared an emotional toast to the late rapper during a New Yearβs Eve celebration, despite Cardiβs divorce from Quavoβs fellow Migos member Offset. Fans await justice as the legal proceedings move forward.
