According to Variety, Peacock has officially greenlit The Accomplice, a series adaptation of the 2024 novel by Curtis β€œ50 Cent” Jackson and Aaron Phillip Clark. The high-stakes crime thriller will star and be executive produced by Taraji P. Henson through her TPH Entertainment banner, with Jackson also serving as executive producer under G-Unit Films and Television. The series hails from UCP, a division of Universal Studio Group.

The Accomplice follows Nia Adams (Henson), a fearless Texas Ranger tracking down Desmond Bell, a master thief whose latest target is one of America’s wealthiest families. But what begins as a pursuit of justice spirals into a web of corruption and deceit that shakes Nia’s faith in the system she’s sworn to protect. As she digs deeper, Nia must confront a moral crossroads β€” whether to expose a conspiracy that could dismantle powerful institutions or safeguard the fragile order holding them together.

No writer has yet been attached to the project, but the pedigree behind the series points to an ambitious entry in Peacock’s growing slate of prestige dramas. Jackson continues to expand his television empire following the success of Power and BMF, while Henson’s involvement signals a dynamic, character-driven approach to the story. Yessss! We are here for all of this Black excellence.

With its blend of crime, politics, and moral intrigue, The Accomplice promises a gripping exploration of justice, loyalty, and power. The partnership between Henson and Jackson marks an exciting creative reunion of two powerhouse producers who have redefined Black storytelling on screen, setting the stage for what could become Peacock’s next must-watch drama.
