Lock your doors and keep the lights on. Zach Cregger, the twisted mind behind Barbarian, is back with another spine-tingling mystery. New Line Cinema’s Weapons will make its global streaming debut Friday, October 24 exclusively on HBO Max, before airing on HBO the following night, Saturday, October 25 at 8:00 p.m. ET.

Led by an all-star cast featuring Josh Brolin, Julia Garner, Alden Ehrenreich, Austin Abrams, Cary Christopher, Benedict Wong, and Amy Madigan, Weapons is already shaping up to be one of the most buzzed-about thrillers of the year.

The setup? When every child from the same class except one vanishes at 2:17 a.m., an entire town unravels. What begins as a desperate search for answers quickly spirals into something much darker. As the community tries to piece together what happened, it becomes clear this isn’t just another missing persons case. There’s something else, something unexplainable, lurking behind it all.

Cregger, who shocked audiences with Barbarian’s wild twists and layered social themes, is once again blending horror with human psychology. Expect tension, symbolism, and a few moments that will have you side-eyeing your own neighborhood.

Behind the scenes, Weapons packs serious creative firepower, produced by Roy Lee, Miri Yoon, J.D. Lifshitz, and Raphael Margules, with Michelle Morrissey and Josh Brolin serving as executive producers. It’s the kind of project that has both indie horror fans and mainstream audiences buzzing, especially given how Cregger has become one of the most talked-about new voices in the genre.
