Armie Hammer: Cat Food Commercial After Exile

Hollywood comebacks can be complicated, especially when they follow major controversy. Armie Hammer is stepping back into acting after a five-year hiatus following an explosive BDSM scandal that rocked the entertainment industry.

The actor, 39, opened up to The Hollywood Reporter in an interview about the allegations and public fallout that forced him out of Hollywood in 2021. Hammer has denied allegations of rape, physical abuse, and other misconduct. Still, the situation forced him to do some real soul-searching about his choices and the Hollywood comebacks that follow personal reckoning.

“I made these problems for myself. This didn’t happen to me by a fluke accident,” Hammer said. “I didn’t do what people are saying I did. But I brought very dangerous and unsafe people into my life, and I pissed off people in my life, and here we are.”

Hammer’s career stalled after alleged messages involving BDSM and cannibalistic fantasies surfaced online. He left multiple projects and was dropped by his agency. Effie Angelova also accused him of sexual assault during an alleged 2017 encounter. His attorney denied the allegation at the time.

The Los Angeles District Attorney’s office said in 2023 that Hammer would not be charged due to insufficient evidence. It’s the kind of legal resolution that doesn’t necessarily repair public trust, but it did allow him space to reflect on his actions.

“Healthy people don’t act the way I was acting,” he said, seemingly taking full responsibility for the chaos he created.

His next role is in Citizen Vigilante. This project marks a significant moment as he tries to rebuild his professional reputation while maintaining genuine accountability for his past behavior.

“I’m going to get to do the thing that I love more than anything, other than my children,” he said of returning to the craft that defined his career before everything fell apart.

Sugar Ray Leonard’s Restraining Order Dismissed

Sugar Ray Leonard‘s temporary restraining order against his son, Daniel Ray Leonard, has been dismissed. The boxing legend’s legal matter has now been resolved in court, though the details surrounding the family situation remain largely private.

According to court documents, a judge ruled Monday, June 15, that the order would be dismissed “without prejudice for lack of prosecution.” This decision came after Sugar Ray Leonard, 70, and Daniel, 25, did not appear in court on June 5. The case had gained attention following Daniel’s May 20 arrest at his father’s Los Angeles home, where police responded to the 1500 block of Amalfi Drive around 5:29 a.m. for a reported restraining order violation.

“Officers arrived and took the suspect into custody for being in violation of his restraining order,” an LAPD spokesperson told Us Weekly. Daniel was booked on a misdemeanor charge, according to online records. TMZ Sports reported that Daniel had attempted to turn “exterior door handles” at the home before Sugar Ray’s security team called 911. Police found him outside the residence near the pool house.

Sugar Ray, whose real name is Ray Charles Leonard, has not publicly addressed the matter. The boxing great shares Daniel and daughter Camille, 29, with wife Bernadette Robi. He is also father to sons Ray Jr., 53, and Jarrel, 42, with ex-wife Juanita Wilkinson.

Barack and Michelle Obama on PEOPLE Cover June 2026

0

When Barack and Michelle Obama return to the public eye, they do so with a deliberate purpose that transcends mere nostalgia. Their recent appearance on the cover of PEOPLE magazine serves as a reminder of their enduring partnership and their deep ties to Chicago’s South Side. For a generation that watched them navigate the highest offices of government, seeing them today offers a sense of stability and reassurance. This feature is not just about looking back at their historic years in the White House. It focuses heavily on the future they are actively building on the ground in the city where their story first took root.

At the heart of their current work is the Barack Obama Presidential Center, a massive civic development that recently opened its doors in Jackson Park. The project represents a physical manifestation of their shared commitment to community development. In the cover story, the former President and First Lady speak candidly about why this specific location matters. Chicago’s South Side is not just a place where Barack began his career as a community organizer. It is where Michelle grew up, where they met at a local law firm, and where they raised their daughters, Sasha and Malia, in their early years. Building this space is an act of returning home, a way to anchor their legacy in the neighborhood that shaped their values.

Their partnership remains a cornerstone of their post-presidency. Over three decades of marriage, Barack and Michelle Obama have shared the public stage with a unique level of transparency about the work required to sustain a relationship under intense scrutiny. In this new interview, they discuss how their daily lives have shifted now that their daughters are independent adults. They talk about finding joy in smaller, quieter moments together, far from the pressures of political campaigns and administrative crises. Their connection is grounded in a deep mutual respect, showing a mature love that has evolved past the demands of public office.

The physical presence of the new presidential center is designed to be a living, breathing space rather than a cold monument. The campus features a museum, a public library branch, a park, and an athletic center. It also houses site-specific art, including a newly unveiled official joint portrait painted by the acclaimed artist Njideka Akunyili Crosby. This choice of artist reflects their continued dedication to elevating diverse voices in fine art. Rather than showcasing dusty campaign buttons and old ballgowns in a vault, they wanted to build a place where neighborhood youth can gather, learn, and feel a sense of ownership over their local history.

For residents of the South Side, the center brings both great expectations and complex discussions. While many celebrate the economic opportunities and resources the campus promises, others raise questions about housing security and neighborhood preservation. The Obamas do not shy away from these conversations, acknowledging that true community work requires listening to real concerns. They view the center as a catalyst for local growth, hoping to spark investment without displacing the families who have kept the South Side resilient for generations.

Photographed by Michael Sayles, the couple looks relaxed yet completely in command of their path forward. The imagery captures them in warm, natural lighting that emphasizes their ease. They do not need the heavy trappings of state power to command attention. Their stature is built on a lifetime of work, service, and a marriage that has weathered some of the most challenging periods in modern history. As they continue to define this chapter, their focus remains fixed on the people and neighborhoods that gave them their start.

Rashee Rice Released From Dallas Jail After 30 Days

NFL athletes face unique pressures both on and off the field. Rashee Rice, the Kansas City Chiefs’ wide receiver, recently experienced a significant setback when he was released from Dallas County Jail on Tuesday morning after serving 30 days for a parole violation. His journey through the legal system has drawn attention to how professional athletes navigate personal challenges while maintaining their careers. You can learn more about NFL athletes and their stories across different platforms.

The 26-year-old Rice had been incarcerated after testing positive for THC last month. In a clip circulating online, Rice was seen running out of the jail before getting into a black Range Rover. He did not speak to reporters as he left, choosing to keep his focus private during this challenging time.

Rice’s jail stay stems from his March 30, 2024, crash case in the Dallas area. On July 17, 2025, he pleaded guilty to two third-degree felony charges: collision involving serious bodily injury and racing on a highway causing bodily injury. He received a 30-day deferred prison sentence and five years’ probation. These consequences have been significant for his career trajectory.

The NFL then suspended Rice for the first six games of the 2025 season under the league’s personal conduct policy. During his incarceration, Rice missed Kansas City’s mandatory minicamp and several OTA sessions, which impacted his preparation for the season ahead.

Chiefs head coach Andy Reid addressed Rice’s situation thoughtfully after the receiver entered jail. “It’s not an easy thing he’s going through,” Reid said May 28. “Life lessons are important, but we’re all given chances to learn. So, he’s in that position now.” Reid’s comments reflect a compassionate approach to athlete accountability and growth.

Rice is entering the final year of his rookie contract, making this period especially crucial for his professional future. As he works through his probation and suspension, the focus shifts to how he’ll rebuild both his career and his reputation in the league.

Laverne Cox: Brands “Scared” to Work With Her

Queer identity and financial resilience are intersecting in ways many aren’t talking about. Laverne Cox, the Emmy-winning star of Orange Is the New Black, recently opened up about how the current political climate is affecting her wallet—and her spirit.

In a candid interview with Attitude, Cox revealed that she’s lost significant income as brands and corporations scale back queer identity initiatives and diversity work. “I’ve lost so much money because of this administration, the past year,” she said. “I managed to stay busy with acting and branding work, as well as speaking engagements. But I never thought college speaking gigs would dry up.”

The hit to her finances has been real. Cox now relies on her savings and retirement funds—a safety net she didn’t always have. “I was working really hard to get out of a financial hole,” she continued. “But then I was also working hard to try to lift up my community.”

It’s a testament to her journey that she even has a retirement fund to fall back on. Cox didn’t land her breakthrough role until she was 40, and she was carrying student loan debt with no savings at that time. That role transformed everything—until now.

“This administration is very punitive with anything that suggests DEI or gender ideology, and corporations have been very scared,” Cox explained. The fear rippling through corporate America has left creators, speakers, and advocates in a precarious position.

Still, she’s grateful for the privilege of having built something. “The blessing is that I finally have the privilege to have a retirement fund to dip into,” she said, “but you don’t really want to do that.”

Saffold, who recently joined the “The BlkCosmo Podcast,” admits the family may have gotten a bit too comfortable with cussing around the young girl. Journey’s mother, Jaidyn Alexis, is known for her intense road rage and frequent outbursts, which the impressionable toddler has picked up on. Trump’s UFC Appearance Sparks Backlash Questions

The internet is buzzing after Alexis Ohanian was spotted heading into President Donald Trump’s White House UFC event. The Reddit co-founder, married to tennis legend Serena Williams, appeared on the attendee list, with CNN capturing him making his way toward the South Lawn.

This appearance has stirred up conversation, especially given that Alexis Ohanian has previously criticized the Trump administration’s deportation policies. The backlash intensified after UFC fighter Josh Hokit made derogatory remarks about former First Lady Michelle Obama during the event. Social media users questioned why Ohanian would attend, particularly considering the racist attacks Serena and Venus Williams have endured throughout their careers—a troubling pattern that mirrors the freedom struggle Black athletes have faced in sports.

Serena herself has faced questions about her own connections to Trump. After reports surfaced that she communicated with him during his first term, she pushed back on the narrative. “I talk to a lot of presidents,” Serena explained. “I spoke to Barack, I spoke to the Clintons. I spoke to every president since I’ve been alive, including Ronald Reagan, I’ll have you know.” It’s a statement that reflects her diplomatic approach to Black excellence and navigating complex political landscapes.

Trump later posted a video in April showing him volleying with Serena, a moment that captured their unlikely connection. For many, these interactions raise questions about loyalty, representation, and what it means for prominent figures in the Black community to maintain relationships across the political spectrum while staying true to their values.
