Today, ALLBLK, the go-to streaming home for unapologetically Black television dropped the trailer for their latest original series G.R.I.T.S., and it’s already giving heart, hustle, and hella Southern charm. Set to premiere Thursday, October 30, this bold new drama is a full-on love letter to the women who rise, grind, and glow through it all.

Standing for Girls Raised in the South, G.R.I.T.S. follows three Memphis women Keisha (Jasmine Sargent), Ty (Ashanti Harris), and Francis (Aja “Slimeroni” Canyon) as they skate, strive, and survive their way through life in the 901. With dreams bigger than their zip code and a determination carved out of struggle, these friends turn the roller rink into both sanctuary and battleground. Between chasing ambitions, wrestling with grief, and facing the city’s harsh realities, they find purpose and power — on eight wheels.

But G.R.I.T.S. isn’t just about the hustle. It’s about the sisterhood that keeps you rolling when life tries to trip you up. Whether they’re navigating love, loss, or the next big break, Keisha, Ty, and Francis remind us that resilience is its own kind of rhythm. And when a high-stakes skating competition offers a shot at freedom, the trio must lace up, lock in, and skate like their futures depend on it.

From creator and executive producer Deji LaRay (Bronx SIU), with Thomas Q. Jones, Martha Sanchez, Brett Dismuke, Nikki Love, and Ashley McFarlin rounding out the executive team, G.R.I.T.S. promises to deliver that perfect blend of heartfelt storytelling and authentic Southern soul that ALLBLK audiences love.

With its sharp focus on womanhood, friendship, and the beauty of Black life in the South, G.R.I.T.S. fits right into ALLBLK’s legacy of uplifting stories that feel real. It’s funny, it’s raw, and it’s full of that Memphis magic. Where the beat never stops, and neither do the women making their way through it. If you know, you KNOW!

So whether you’re from the South or just got a little Southern grit in your spirit, mark your calendars. G.R.I.T.S. premieres October 30 on ALLBLK, and trust — it’s about to roll its way straight into your heart.
