According to E! News, the singer recently spoke with the outlet in an interview published on Tuesday, February 25. During the conversation, the singer shared that she’s feeling “incredibly pleased” with her current circumstances in life.
“I am feeling amazing, incredibly pleased, humbled. My life has completely changed for the better. I feel full, you know? My cup is full,” she said.
As for whether she’s ready to add baby number two to her and Nelly’s equation, the ‘Baby’ singer reportedly responded, “Absolutely.”
“We’re going to add some more,” she explained. “Definitely a girl to balance it out. I’m outnumbered in the house right now. So, a girl would be great.”
The Singer Spoke About Rekindling Feelings For Her Now-Husband
During the interview, Ashanti also reflected on rekindling feelings for her former ex-boyfriend, now-husband, Nelly.
“We were together for 11 years off and on. We stopped, we hated each other for a good chunk of time. And then we spun the block. It just feels like timing is everything,” she explained.
Ultimately, Ashanti shared that her and Nelly’s reconnection was “divine.”
“It was, ‘I can’t believe these feelings came back.’ That’s what it was for me. When we first started talking and dating again it was like, ‘Wait a minute, these feelings were gone. How did they creep back?’”
More Details On Ashanti’s Baby Journey With Nelly
As BlkCosmo previously reported, Nelly initially confirmed his and the singer’s rekindled romance in September 2023. At the time, the rapper appeared on ‘Boss Moves with Rasheeda.’
In April of the following year, the couple revealed they were engaged and expecting their first child together, per BlkCosmo.
In June 2024, it was revealed that the singer and Nelly were actually married, per BlkCosmo. Then, in August of that year, Ashanti confirmed that she and the rapper welcomed their baby boy, Kareem Kenkaide Hayes, on July 18.
Most recently, Ashanti and her husband addressed rumors that they were expecting a second child before continuing to fuel baby speculation with a New Year’s Eve performance.
