Brian McKnight is taking legal action after claiming his name and legacy are being dragged through the mud. The R&B legend has filed a lawsuit alleging a coordinated effort to damage his reputation through what he calls a “shockingly dishonest” and false narrative.
According to the filing, Brian McKnight says accusations that he abandoned his children and failed to express love to his late son Niko are completely untrue. In the lawsuit, McKnight points the finger at his ex-wife Julie McKnight, as well as his son Brian McKnight Jr., accusing them of helping push the narrative.
He also names bloggers and media figures, including Marc Lamont Hill and Tasha K, along with the New York Post, alleging they amplified the claims for profit and attention. McKnight further claims that Tasha K made additional false accusations online, including allegations about inappropriate relationships, which he strongly denies.
The singer says the ongoing situation has harmed his career, reputation, and family, calling it a “relentless and persistent assault” on his character. Now, he’s seeking damages and aiming to clear his name in court.
