Hillman College is officially back in session—and the cast is getting stacked. Netflix just announced a fresh wave of talent joining the highly anticipated A Different World sequel, and it’s bringing both new energy and familiar faces.
We’re talking serious star power here. Check out A Different World and you’ll see why fans are already hyped. Hip-hop icon turned actor Method Man (Cliff “Method Man” Smith) is stepping in as Coach Coles, while Norman Nixon Jr. will take on the role of Professor Baptiste.
Fans of the original series will also be happy to see returning cast members Karen Malina White as Charmaine Brown and Ajai Sanders reprising her role as Gina Deveaux.
Behind the scenes, the show is coming with serious star power too. Felicia Pride is leading the project as showrunner, while Debbie Allen—a key force behind the original—returns to executive produce and direct multiple episodes, including the premiere.
The new series will follow Deborah Wayne, daughter of iconic couple Dwayne Wayne and Whitley Gilbert, as she begins her journey at Hillman College. The storyline focuses on her trying to carve out her own identity while balancing the legacy of her parents.
With 10 half-hour episodes on deck, the reboot is shaping up to blend nostalgia with a fresh new storyline for a new generation.
