Cam’ron has publicly addressed his lawsuit against fellow rapper J. Cole, confirming that he is seeking at least $500,000 in connection with an unreleased collaboration titled “Ready ’24.”

Cam’ron discussed the situation during an episode of his YouTube series Talk With Flee, where he outlined the sequence of events that led to the legal filing. According to Cam’ron, the dispute stems from a collaboration agreement involving multiple recordings and a guest verse that he says was never delivered.

The lawsuit was filed in October and alleges that Cam’ron has not been compensated for his work on “Ready ’24.” The claims related to the lawsuit are separate from Cam’ron’s prior appearance on J. Cole’s song “95 South,” which was released in 2021.

The Alleged Collaboration Between Cam’ron and J. Cole

Cam’ron stated that he recorded verses for two J. Cole-related tracks, including “95 South” and “Ready ’24.” He said the recordings were completed in 2021, with “Ready ’24” scheduled for release in 2024. According to Cam’ron, the agreement involved a reciprocal feature, where J. Cole would also provide a verse for one of Cam’ron’s projects.

During Talk With Flee, Cam’ron described the timeline of the recording process and said he completed his contribution promptly. He explained that after delivering his verse, he later contacted J. Cole to request the promised feature.

“I’m exaggerating, but he was like, ‘The chakra ain’t right now. The moon gotta align with the stars. When I write, I put my all into it,’” Cam recounted with a laugh. “[I was like], ‘Okay, well put your all into it!’” Cam’ron also stated that his verse for J. Cole was completed quickly.
“I did my verse in 20 minutes,” he said.

Interview Discussions and Scheduling Delays

In addition to the music collaboration, Cam’ron said he later approached J. Cole about participating in an interview for Talk With Flee. According to Cam’ron, J. Cole initially agreed to the interview as part of promotion for his upcoming album.

Cam’ron said the interview was first scheduled for June but was postponed at J. Cole’s request.
“Now we gonna do it in October,” Cam explained, claiming Cole backed out of their original June plan for the interview.

Cam’ron stated that the rescheduling occurred during a period when J. Cole was facing public attention related to a brief rap dispute with Kendrick Lamar.

“This is when all the beef is going on with Kendrick Lamar,” Cam said. According to Cam’ron, J. Cole expressed hesitation about doing an interview without addressing that situation.

“[Cole told me], ‘Yo, I can’t do it right now because I don’t feel like talking about that.’ I said, ‘Look, I won’t even bring that up.’ He says, ‘Nah, I can’t do no interview and not talk about it.’”

Further Attempts to Reschedule the Interview

Cam’ron said the interview was later tentatively moved to February. However, he stated that J. Cole again postponed, citing continued work on his album.

Cam’ron did not specify a new date for the interview and said communication stalled afterward. He did not indicate whether further attempts were made following that exchange.
As of publication, J. Cole has not publicly commented on Cam’ron’s statements, the interview discussions, or the lawsuit.

Details of the Lawsuit and Financial Claims

According to Cam’ron, the lawsuit seeks at least $500,000 in compensation for “Ready ’24.” He also stated that he is pursuing official co-author credit for the track. The lawsuit alleges that Cam’ron has not received payment for his contribution to “Ready ’24.” He clarified that the claims do not involve “95 South,” which was released and credited separately.

The lawsuit was filed last October. Court documents have not yet been publicly ruled on, and no settlement has been announced.
