Cam previously filed a lawsuit against the Dreamville rapper over a collaboration they worked on, alleging he wasn't properly paid and that agreed-upon terms weren't honored.

Brandy released a statement clarifying the truth about her relationship with Shyne and publicly calling out Ray J after he and others made public comments about her personal life.

Cam'ron and Mase brought Shyne onto their podcast and joked about having dated Brandy at the same time. Ray J retaliated on a livestream, threatening to assault them and promising crew would sexually assault them as punishment, prompting legal action.

During a recent podcast episode, Cam'ron revealed that both Ma$e and Shyne were dating Brandy in 1998 without knowing about each other, causing tension at Bad Boy Records once the truth came out. Ma$e compared himself to Shaq while Shyne aligned with Kobe in describing their dynamic.
