Word on the street is Diddy might be back to his old ways already. Just weeks after telling the court he’s been sober for the first time in 25 years, he’s reportedly been caught with some homemade hooch in a New Jersey prison.
Diddy Convicted, Sentenced, And Begging To Serve Time In Fort Dix’s Residential Drug Abuse Program For Early Release
According to TMZ, Sean Combs, got busted with some homemade alcohol inside his unit at Fort Dix. This is the same low-security prison his lawyers requested, hoping he’d serve his 50-month sentence there for his federal sex trafficking and racketeering case.
Back on July 2nd, Diddy was convicted on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution – accused of violating the Mann Act. While a federal jury found him not guilty of the more serious racketeering and sex trafficking charges, on October 3rd, Judge Arun Subramanian sentenced Diddy to just over 4 years. With time served and jail credit, he’s expected to be released in 3 1/2 years, around May 8, 2028.
After sentencing, Diddy’s team requested he serve time at Fort Dix, where completing a 12-month program could shorten his sentence. This could mean a potential release around February 2027, if he successfully completes the program. His legal team specifically requested he be placed under FCI (Federal Correctional Institution) Fort Dix’s Residential Drug Abuse Program (RDAP).
On October 6th, Diddy’s lawyer, Teny Geragos, even filed a letter asking Judge Subramanian to suggest Fort Dix for the mogul. In the letter, obtained by Fox News Digital, Geragos claimed Diddy would be able to “address drug abuse issues” and “maximize family visitation and rehabilitative efforts” in the prison’s RDAP program.
Diddy Reportedly Busted With Homemade Alcohol In New Jersey Prison At Which He Begged To Complete Drug Program For Early Release
It seems all that strategic planning to enroll Diddy into FCI Fort Dix’s Residential Drug Abuse Program and shave off some time might be going up in smoke, thanks to TMZ’s report.
Sources say prison officials caught Diddy with homemade alcohol after he was transferred to Fort Dix last week. Before that, he was in custody at Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center (MDC Brooklyn). Apparently, the drink was a mix of Fanta soda, sugar, and apples – fermented for about two weeks to get that alcoholic kick.
Following the bust, officials considered moving Diddy from his old unit. But sources later shared that they changed their minds and are leaving him where he is.
This all comes just weeks after Diddy talked up his sobriety to Judge Subramanian. During sentencing last month, Diddy said he was sober for the first time in 25 years. He even mentioned how substance abuse led him down the wrong path. “The old me died in jail and a new version of me was reborn,” Diddy wrote. “Prison will change you or kill you — I choose to live.”
