Imagine an afterlife where souls get a week to figure out their eternal destination. Joan (Elizabeth Olsen) is stuck between a rock and a hard place: the man she built a life with (Miles Teller) versus her first love (Callum Turner), who checked out early and has been waiting for her arrival for decades.
Directed by David Freyne (known for The Cured and Dating Amber), Eternity mixes romance with the big questions of the afterlife. Freyne brings a tender touch to exploring what happens when love outlives our earthly existence.
Olsen kills it as a woman torn between two loves: one shaped by years together, the other frozen in time. Teller brings the feels as a husband learning to let go, while Turner captures the longing of first love stuck in memory.
John Early, Olga Merediz, and Da’Vine Joy Randolph round out the cast, bringing humor and humanity to the film. This ensemble grounds the story, reminding us that even in the afterlife, connection matters.
