After more than a decade since his last holiday movie, Tyler Perry is making a grand return to festive filmmaking! Finding Joy is set to premiere globally on Prime Video on November 5, 2025. This marks Perry’s first Christmas-themed movie since A Madea Christmas, and we already know it’s going to be good. Expect heartfelt romance, soulful humor, and those emotional moments he’s known for—all wrapped up in a wintry, feel-good package just in time for the holiday season.

At the heart of this story is Shannon Thornton, shining in her first leading role in a holiday romance. She plays Joy, a talented New York fashion designer whose creativity is constantly dimmed by her demanding boss. Sound familiar, anyone? As Joy navigates both professional and personal struggles, her friends, played by Brittany S. Hall and Inayah, give her that extra nudge to take a leap of faith. So she follows her crush, Colton (Aaron O’Connell), all the way to Colorado. Talk about a romantic pursuit! But things take a turn when unexpected revelations and, of course, a snowstorm, leave her stranded far from home.

In her lowest moment, Joy’s path crosses with Ridge, played by Tosin Morohunfola, whose warmth and wisdom help her rediscover her purpose. He helps her open her heart to new possibilities. Through laughter, love, and a whole lot of self-discovery, Finding Joy delivers a message about resilience and embracing those second chances. We love to see it!

Produced, written, and directed by Tyler Perry himself, along with producers Angi Bones and Will Areu, this film is set to be a comforting escape and a new holiday favorite. With its blend of romance, humor, and life lessons, Finding Joy is poised to become an annual tradition for audiences seeking a little warmth and inspiration during the holidays.
