James Harden‘s mugshot surfaced after the NBA star was arrested early Saturday in Houston on a misdemeanor weapons charge. Police say a handgun was found in his vehicle during a routine traffic stop.
According to police records, the Cleveland Cavaliers guard was stopped around 3:41 a.m. for a traffic violation. Officers allegedly discovered a handgun on a seat inside the vehicle—not secured in a holster. This led to a charge of “unlawful carrying of a weapon.” James Harden, 36, was booked and later released after posting a $100 bond.

The Cavaliers released a statement saying the team is “aware” of the situation and is “gathering more information” before commenting further.
This arrest comes after a solid season for Harden with Cleveland. He arrived from the Los Angeles Clippers in a midseason trade and became one of the team’s key veterans. His presence helped elevate the squad during the postseason run.
During the regular season, Harden averaged 20.5 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 7.7 assists per game. The Cavaliers reached the Eastern Conference Finals before falling to the New York Knicks, who went on to win the NBA Finals in five games.
Harden is expected to appear in court later this month as the misdemeanor case moves forward.
