Did the Prince and Princess of Wales get an invite to Taylor Swift wedding? Here’s how William responded to that question.
There’s been plenty of speculation about the details surrounding Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s summer wedding. Several outlets have reported that the two will tie the knot at Madison Square Garden on July 3, in front of more than 1,000 guests. However, other publications claim that the date and venue were leaked to throw off and distract from when and where Swift and Kelce are really getting married.
Another thing fans want to know is who made the guest list. Suki Waterhouse, who’s been close with Swift for years, confirmed that she would be attending the nuptials. And Swift’s bestie, Selena Gomez, along with other stars she’s friends with, will surely be in attendance too. But what about a certain royal with whom the singer is pals? This Taylor Swift wedding speculation has everyone talking.
Well, the answer Prince William gave recently when he was asked if he got an invite to the wedding is making the rounds again, and has fans wondering if the Prince and Princess of Wales will attend.
William and Swift’s relationship goes back years. The two met in 2013 at the Centrepoint Gala Dinner, a charity event for homelessness. The future king and the iconic artist joined Jon Bon Jovi onstage for a rendition of the 1986 hit “Livin’ on a Prayer.” It was a moment that showed their genuine connection beyond the celebrity surface.
In 2024, William attended Swift’s concert during her The Eras tour stop at Wembley Stadium in London. The royal was spotted singing and dancing the night away. When the show was over, he and his children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, headed backstage to hang out with Swift and take pictures with her and Kelce. That backstage moment became an instant cultural meditation on modern royalty meeting pop culture at its peak.
So did William get an invite to the wedding? He was asked just that during an appearance on The Heart Breakfast Radio Show.
The prince began laughing and said “no comment” before adding, “I’m hoping. I’m sure there might be an invitation around. But we’ll see.” His playful response left everyone guessing whether we’ll see the royal family in attendance at this once-in-a-lifetime celebration.
