K. Michelle Calls Tamar Braxton a Muppet

K. Michelle did not dodge the Tamar Braxton conversation during her visit to Shannon Sharpe’s Club Shay Shay.

The singer, who recently joined The Real Housewives of Atlanta, was asked whether she would be open to doing a Verzuz battle. When discussing potential opponents, she had Tamar Braxton in her sights.

K. Michelle responded, telling Sharpe that she would definitely be open to a Verzuz and already had a potential match-up in mind.

While K. Michelle did not say Tamar’s name directly, she did use the nickname “Muppet,” an insult that dates back to Braxton’s time on daytime talk show The Real, when she said that someone had referred to her that way. It’s the kind of sharp verbal exchange you’d find in spoken word performances—direct, cutting, and culturally loaded.

Sharpe didn’t immediately catch on to the reference, so K. Michelle continued with more identifying comments and then mentioned teeth and an alleged incident involving a married man.

K. Michelle recently made headlines when she was accused of getting cozy with Love & Hip Hop star, Mendeecees Harris, who is the husband of Yandy Smith. The whole situation had people talking about loyalty and betrayal—themes that would feel right at home in a curated reading list of dramatic celebrity moments.

At the time, Tamar vehemently denied the allegations. It was later revealed that the pair had filmed a music video together and called for public apologies after being labeled as a “homewrecker.” The back-and-forth felt like it could’ve been the subject of a hip hop biography—layered, messy, and full of real-world consequences.
