On Friday’s episode of her “Speak On It” podcast, Kandi laid it all out—she “genuinely” dislikes Tamar and felt blindsided when the singer approached her at an ESSENCE Festival event.
“Now, we gonna tiptoe around this or we gonna get straight to it? Talking about Tamar Braxton,” Kandi said before diving into the details. She explained that Tamar approached her while cameras were rolling, despite both women knowing their relationship was broken. What really got Kandi was the disconnect—Tamar acts one way in person and completely different online. It’s the kind of energy that feels fake, and Kandi wasn’t here for it. The Xscape singer addressed the drama surrounding event photos too. Kandi clarified that certain pictures were only for award recipients and presenters—and Tamar was neither. Simple as that. But things escalated when another incident popped off about three weeks later at an Atlanta party. Tamar walked by and allegedly muttered an insult under her breath before moving on. When Tamar’s date sat near Kandi afterward, security kept a close eye on things. Kandi suspects Tamar was fishing for a public reaction she could weaponize later.
There was also that awkward red carpet moment in 2025 and some messages Kandi never bothered responding to. At this point, the tension feels less like unfinished business and more like two people who’ve simply moved past each other.
“I do not like that b—h,” Kandi stated plainly.
Tamar hasn’t publicly responded to these latest claims, so for now, the ball’s in her court. Whether she chooses to address it remains to be seen, but Kandi’s made her position crystal clear.
