Keshia Chanté
Denies Drake’s The Baby Daddy
But Says Father Is Famous

Drake‘s longtime friend Keshia Chanté is setting the record straight. Hours after the rapper’s representatives flatly denied paternity rumors circulating online, Chanté’s own team weighed in with a statement that both confirms and complicates the narrative.
According to her representatives, the unborn child’s father is indeed a “public figure in music”—just not Drake. The clarification came after Chanté shared maternity photos on social media earlier this week without revealing the father’s identity, which naturally set speculation ablaze.
Chanté’s team emphasizes that she’s been deliberately private throughout her pregnancy, keeping the news under wraps for nearly eight months. “She’s protective of her family,” her rep explained to outlets. That protectiveness extends to the identity of her child’s father, which remains undisclosed.
Drake
Drake’s management at The Agency Group had already moved to shut down the rumors, calling them “inaccurate” and entirely false. The speculation wasn’t entirely unfounded on its surface—Chanté and Drake have maintained a long-standing friendship, and public figures who know each other are often subjects of tabloid theorizing.
The timing of her maternity announcement without naming the father created an opening for gossip-driven speculation. But that gap between what’s public and what remains private is increasingly where celebrity news lives.
Drake and Adonis
For context, Drake shares an 8-year-old son named Adonis with French artist Sophie Brussaux. That relationship was itself the subject of years of speculation before Drake confirmed the child publicly.
Chanté seems intent on handling her pregnancy announcement differently—with boundaries intact and details carefully controlled. Whether the identity of her son’s father becomes public remains to be seen.
