La La Anthony and Kim Kardashian are teaming up for a new Hulu series titled Group Chat, as reported by Deadline. The satirical comedy is created and executive produced by Kenya Barris, known for his work on Black-ish. Both Anthony and Kardashian will also serve as executive producers on the project.
Anthony took to Instagram to share her excitement about the new venture. “Group Chat is COMING TO HULU!!!!! Everyone’s invited to our group chat @kimkardashian 😬😬😬 excited to do this with you @kenyabarris!!!” she wrote.
The series is loosely based on Anthony’s bestselling book, The Love Playbook: Rules for Love, Sex, and Happiness. Group Chat follows five successful women in their 40s who have seemingly perfected their lives in L.A. But behind their picture-perfect exteriors lies a secret group chat where the real drama unfolds. Expect a mix of unfiltered truths, juicy gossip, and plenty of drama.
Anthony, who gained fame for her role on Power and appeared in BMF, The Chi, and You People, brings her personal experience to the show. Kardashian, a long-time TV personality and star of The Kardashians, is also making her mark as an executive producer on the upcoming Ryan Murphy legal drama All’s Fair.
Kenya Barris, celebrated for his work on the Black-ish franchise, also executive produces other projects like Diarra From Detroit and The Vince Staples Show. He is also known for writing and directing You People.
Fans can look forward to a behind-the-scenes look at the chaotic lives of these successful women, where the truth is always messier than it seems.
