Miguel Calls Out Racist Harassment Against Margaret Zhang

Online harassment has escalated into racism, stalking, and threats for Miguel, and the Grammy winner is putting his family first by taking a stand.

In a recent statement, the award-winning singer detailed how the abuse has spread beyond him to reach his partner, Margaret Zhang, and their young child. Online harassment like this shouldn’t be normalized—and Miguel is making that crystal clear.

“Over the past year, my family and the people i love have been subjected to racism, harassment, stalking, invasions of privacy, and false allegations,” Miguel wrote in his statement.

Zhang, who is pregnant with their second child, has also been targeted with racist and anti-Asian attacks through comments and direct messages. It’s heartbreaking when partners and families get dragged into the toxicity, especially when they’re just living their lives.

“It doesn’t become acceptable because someone dresses it up as criticism, fandom, speculation, or ‘concern,'” the singer explained. He’s right—there’s no dressing up hate as something else.

“If you participate in this behavior, you are not supporting me. You are not part of this community,” he continued, noting that legal action has already been taken in some situations where boundaries were crossed, with more potentially to follow. He’s drawing a line in the sand—and honestly, it’s necessary.

Miguel and Zhang welcomed their son, Angel, in 2024 and are now expecting another child. They deserve to enjoy this time without the constant barrage of hate and invasive behavior.

After receiving supportive messages from followers, Miguel returned to the comments with gratitude: “Overwhelmed reading your comments of support loved ones, thank you.” Community matters, especially when it’s real and respectful.
