Ne-Yo Says Poly Relationship Cost Him Major Deals

Ne-Yo is speaking candidly about the backlash he says has followed his polyamorous lifestyle, and he believes that judgment is hitting his wallet too. In a culture where celebrity relationships always become public conversation, his comments are sparking fresh debate about privacy, respect, and how far brand approval really goes.

During a recent appearance on the Sorry We’re Cyrus podcast with Tish and Brandi Cyrus, Ne-Yo said some business opportunities reportedly fell through once companies learned he was in a relationship with multiple women. He framed it as a bigger issue about people being comfortable with honesty until that honesty challenges their personal beliefs.

“The world is mad at the fact that I’m in a polyamorous relationship,” he said. “There’s deals that I missed out on because they’re like, ‘We don’t know if we can get behind the whole polyamorous thing.’”

The R&B singer said he tries to move with openness and respect, but feels public support can shift fast when folks disagree with someone’s personal choices. That tension is familiar in entertainment, especially when Black artists are expected to be both authentic and marketable at the same time.

He also shared that he currently lives with his three girlfriends—Arielle Hill, Cristina, and Moneii—along with their children.

“We are a family. We love each other, and it’s a beautiful thing,” he said, explaining that the dynamic is rooted in community and transparency, not the assumptions people often make online.

Ne-Yo said his outlook on relationships changed after his divorce from ex-wife Crystal Renay. According to him, he made a promise to never be dishonest in relationships again, even if the truth might make some people uncomfortable.

He also emphasized that everyone involved knows the arrangement and chose it willingly.

Still, while some fans applaud the honesty, others continue to debate the lifestyle across social media. Now, Ne-Yo says that conversation is no longer just personal—it’s affecting his professional opportunities too.
