Nicki Minaj‘s legal team is stepping away from one of her active cases. According to court documents obtained by BlkCosmo, the law firm Kurzman Eisenberg Corbin & Lever has filed to withdraw from representing the rapper and her production company, citing what they describe as “irreconcilable differences” over the representation.
The firm has been defending Nicki Minaj and her Pink Friday Productions company against a lawsuit filed by 24/7 Productions. The dispute centers on alleged unpaid expenses totaling over $200,000 that 24/7 says they fronted in connection with her “Pink Friday 2” album rollout.

The breakdown between Nicki’s camp and her attorneys points to deeper communication issues. According to the filing, the firm has struggled to reach the rapper and maintain productive dialogue about the case strategy.
Attempts to formally notify Nicki of their withdrawal have proven complicated. A process server sent to her residence at a $10 million Manhattan penthouse was told by the building’s concierge that the rapper wasn’t available. The server noted that while Nicki’s husband was present, the concierge mentioned the couple has “a tendency of not answering their phones.”
The situation reflects what legal experts often see in high-profile cases: the difficulty of managing attorney-client relationships when schedules diverge and communication channels aren’t clearly established. For defendants facing substantial claims, losing representation mid-case can complicate matters significantly.
The case itself remains unresolved, and the judge will now need to address the firm’s withdrawal request while the underlying reimbursement dispute waits resolution.
