Paris Jackson Wins $625K Estate Bonus Court Fight

Michael Jackson Estate battles just got real. Paris Jackson scored a major ‘W’ in her ongoing dispute over payments tied to her father’s legacy, and the ruling is turning heads.

According to a decision unsealed Tuesday, a retired judge ordered three attorneys to return a combined $625,000 in bonus payments that had been approved by estate executor John Branca back in 2018. In the 23-page decision, retired Judge Mitchell Beckloff made it clear: the Michael Jackson Estate failed to provide enough detail to justify the extra compensation. “The referee cannot find the bonus payments are just and reasonable based on the information provided,” Beckloff wrote. “The bonus amounts paid appear arbitrary.” Real talk—that’s a strong statement.

The ruling also brings some serious structural changes. Executors are now barred from issuing future attorney fees without written approval from all beneficiaries or court authorization. Paris, 28, had petitioned the court for stricter oversight of legal fees—and she delivered. Beckloff additionally ordered that 30 percent of future attorney fees be withheld until formally approved. It’s like implementing a meal prep containers approach to estate management: everything measured, documented, and transparent.

A spokesperson for Paris called the outcome “a massive win” for the Jackson family, saying it would finally bring the accountability measures and transparency the family deserves. This ruling signals that beneficiaries won’t stand for vague financial decisions anymore.

Representatives for the estate said they disagreed with the decision but would “fully respect it.” Whether they like it or not, the rules have changed.

Paris is one of three beneficiaries of Michael Jackson’s estate alongside her brothers Prince and Bigi Jackson. Their unified push for oversight shows how important it is to protect family assets and honor legacy management with real accountability.
