The chatter about Pastor Karri Bryant‘s viral lace dress isn’t dying down, and now she’s finally speaking her truth. After weeks of internet buzz and a passionate defense from her husband, Pastor Jamal Bryant, Pastor Karri Bryant appeared on The Tamron Hall Show with him, tackling the criticism head-on.

She opened up about the backlash after wearing a striking black lace gown to the United Negro College Fund fundraising gala. Karri made it crystal clear: her outfit choice wasn’t about seeking attention or stirring up drama. Instead, she emphasized her personal style, explaining she dresses for herself and her husband.

She also powerfully pushed back against being pigeonholed, reminding everyone that she’s a multifaceted woman who won’t be confined to just one role or expectation.

Pastor Jamal Bryant Stands His Ground

Before her interview, Pastor Jamal Bryant had already clapped back at the online frenzy. He called out how the “internet went crazy” over his wife’s look, completely ignoring the true impact of their efforts that evening.

“I needed to get this straight. I needed to deal with it head on,” Bryant began in the video. “Because the other day, the internet went crazy about a dress my wife had on.”

He continued, passionately highlighting the positive outcomes overshadowed by the dress drama.

“Now, they didn’t say anything about the $4 million that was raised for the United Negro College Fund. They never mentioned that she prayed until Heaven came down. They never said anything about this was the largest fundraiser for HBCUs in the country. But insecure, jealous, petty, small-minded people got in their feelings and set up a false barometer of holiness based off of a dress.”

“Now, you got to help some people, because some people are going to embrace the full knowledge of ignorance without any assistance for understanding. The dress was not see-through, the dress was flesh-color.”

Pastor Bryant didn’t mince words as he wrapped up, making his unwavering stance perfectly clear.

“I need to set the record straight: I bought the dress! And I like it. I don’t care whether you like it or not; she ain’t married to all. She married to me.”

Ultimately, the Bryants are standing strong together, keeping their focus squarely on their mission and refusing to let internet noise overshadow the night’s real triumphs.
