The Scrubs revival is gaining steam, fam! We’re hyped to announce two fresh faces joining the Sacred Heart crew: the hilarious Emmy-nominated actor and comedian X Mayo, and the uber-talented Broadway star, Michael James Scott.

Word on the street is the revival, greenlit in late 2024, is fast-tracking to its premiere date: February 25, 2026, on ABC. And, of course, episodes will be ready for your Hulu binge the next day. Filming’s already underway, with the O.G. creative team blending familiar faces with new blood in the halls of Sacred Heart.

The reboot jumps ahead fifteen years from the original series finale. Creator Bill Lawrence is back at the helm, reuniting with our faves: Zach Braff, Donald Faison, and Sarah Chalke are back as JD, Turk, and Elliot. Judy Reyes is set to reprise her iconic role as Carla Espinosa as a guest, and the legendary John C. McGinley will be back as the one and only Dr. Perry Cox. Plus, we’ll be seeing Robert Maschio and Phill Lewis return as Todd and Hooch. It’s gonna be epic!

Meet the New Crew at Sacred Heart

Michael James Scott, currently killin’ it as the Genie in Broadway’s Aladdin, will be playing Nurse Francois Dubois. Picture this: a young, observant, and witty co-charge nurse running the floor with precision alongside his bestie, Nurse Pippa.

And get this: X Mayo, known for her roles in Freakier Friday, American Auto, Abbott Elementary, and Season 3 of Apple TV+’s Loot, will embody Nurse Pippa Raymond. She’s described as a sarcastic, gossipy, and super-capable co-charge nurse who’s all about keeping the unit tight and organized. We already know she’s gonna bring the laughs!

Alongside X Mayo and Michael James Scott, we’ve got even more new talent joining the squad:

  • Vanessa Bayer (Saturday Night Live)
  • Joel Kim Booster (Fire Island)
  • Ava Bunn (Head Shot)
  • Jacob Dudman (The Stranger)
  • David Gridley (It Takes Three)
  • Layla Mohammadi (Lioness)
  • Amanda Morrow (The Devil Wears Prada 2)

Honoring the OG While Moving Forward

Zach Braff recently let us know that the new season is all about keeping that heart, humor, and emotional vibe of the original while bringing it to modern times. He mentioned the writer’s room is stacked with veterans from the original show and a young, diverse team bringing fresh perspectives. Donald Faison added that the core story is still gonna hit home, and fans can expect to follow their favorite doctors through new chapters of life and their careers.

Mark your calendars, people! The Scrubs revival premieres Wednesday, February 25, 2026, on ABC.
