Tamika Scott of the legendary R&B group Xscape just schooled us on how to be a class act! Sis was dining out with her daughter, and apparently, the restaurant staff acted like they were invisible. Like, couldn’t even get a “Can I help you?” But one waitress saw them, treated them with respect, and Tamika showed her the ultimate gratitude.
Instead of letting the initial snub get to her, Tamika decided to flip the script and spread some love. She tipped that young waitress a jaw-dropping $700. Yes, you read that right! Now that’s how you turn a negative into a major positive.
Tamika hopped on Instagram with a video and a picture alongside the waitress, sharing a caption that hit us right in the feels:
“Don’t judge a book by its cover, don’t look for special privileges. I believe EVERYONE should be treated fairly, no matter their color, sex, or financial status!! Thank you to the young lady that helped me and my daughter! You never know what a person is going through. Be kind and never turn your back on anyone!”
She wrapped it up with a powerful verse from Hebrews 13:2:
“Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unaware.”
