Teyana Taylor is keepin’ it real about her divorce from baller Iman Shumpert. Sis is speakin’ on the bread it cost herβand why she ain’t mad about it.
In a recent heart-to-heart, the super-talented Teyana revealed that the $70,000 she had to cough up in legal fees related to the split was worth every single penny.
“That was the best lil’ coin I ever spent in my life because I never have to deal with this again,” Taylor said, loud and clear. Sometimes, peace of mind is priceless, you know?
This came after she was found in contempt of court this summer. Back in July, a judge said she broke a gag order after she went live on Instagram back in March to set the record straight about those split rumors. She was defending herself from claims that she was trying to snatch up Shumpert’s assets, but the move came with a hefty price tag.
The court ordered Teyana to cover Shumpert’s $70,000 legal bill while denying her own request for reimbursement. But hey, the judge did throw her a bone and dismissed one of Shumpert’s motions where he accused her of messing with their parenting plan.
Instead of seeing it as a setback, Teyana’s flipping the script. She’s calling that steep bill an investment in her freedom and serenity. No more drama, no more messy back-and-forths.
“Sometimes peace is more important than pride,” Taylor confessed. “I paid it, and I’m moving on with my life.” That’s Black girl magic right there.
With the divorce behind her, this powerhouse creative is all about her career, her kids, and making boss moves. Leaving that baggage where it belongsβin the past.
