Nearly 10 years may separate Tweet fans from her last studio effort, 2016’s ‘Charlene,’ but now the GRAMMY nominee is ready to press play on some new music thanks to a brand-spanking new record deal.

Taking to Instagram on Saturday (September 20), the ‘Oops (Oh My)’ hitmaker certainly had fans saying “oh my” when she surprise-announced her new single ‘Toot Toot’ will be hitting digital music shelves on September 26.

“It’s time to take you back,” she told her 411,000 followers on Instagram about the new song. “20 years in the making; I never left, I just kept recording. Next up [is] ‘Toot Toot’ from the highly anticipated ‘Memoirs of a Southern Hummingbird’ [album].”

The new project, a conceptual follow-up to her 2002 breakthrough album ‘Southern Hummingbird,’ comes as her first release on new label home SRG/ILS Group.

“Everyone at SRG/ILS is very excited about this project, which is the legitimate follow-up to the amazing platinum-selling album Southern Hummingbird. Tweet’s musicality and vibe remain unmatched,” said Claude Villani, CEO of SRG-ILS Group, in an official statement. “It is a perfect record for people who love real Soul, R&B, and just great music.”

Tweet shared Villani’s elation about the new musical partnership.

“I’m very excited to partner with the SRG/Virgin Music family on this project. It’s long overdue, and my fans have waited a very long time, and I’m finally able to share it with the world. CV, thank you for believing in me, and I look forward to making history together,” she said of the professional union. It’s a beautiful thing to see a Black woman artist owning her journey after all these years!

The label currently serves as musical home to big names like KeKe Palmer, Johnny Gill, and others. Talk about a roster of talent that understands the assignment.

‘Memoirs,’ reportedly due Fall 2025, does not have an announced release date attached as of time of this report. We’ll be waiting with bated breath, queens!
