Major Lawsuit Filed Against Will Smith by Violinist Brian King Joseph
Brian King Joseph, a celebrated violinist, has just dropped a major lawsuit in Los Angeles Superior Court. Filed on December 30th, the complaint names none other than Will Smith and Treyball Studios Management, Inc. Joseph is alleging sexual harassment, wrongful termination, and retaliation – claims that have definitely sent ripples.
The court filing is pretty stark. Joseph claims that Will Smith “was deliberately grooming and priming Mr. Joseph for further sexual exploitation.” This allegedly stemmed from an incident back in March 2025 during Smith’s “Based on a True Story” global tour, where Joseph was performing. The lawsuit says events during that time ultimately led to his termination. After Joseph raised concerns about the alleged incident, he was reportedly removed from the tour, replaced by another violinist, and suffered emotional, financial, and reputational harm.
Joseph Shared His Story on Instagram Days Before Filing
Days before the official complaint dropped, Joseph took to Instagram on December 25th. He shared a powerful video hinting at his tour experience and a looming legal battle, though he didn’t name names. Joseph spoke about being hired for a “major major tour with somebody who was huge in the industry,” expressing his excitement for the opportunity.
“Unfortunately some things happened,” he shared, adding that he couldn’t get into specifics due to ongoing legal matters. But he made it clear why he was speaking out: “getting fired or getting blamed or shamed or threatened or anything like that simply for reporting sexual misconduct or safety threats at work is not okay.” He also sent a message of solidarity to others who might be in similar situations, saying, “if that’s you, I see you.”
Chilling Details Emerge from March 2025 Incident
The complaint really lays out a “traumatic series of events” from March 2025 on Smith’s tour. Joseph alleges he found his Las Vegas hotel room had been entered – with no signs of forced entry. This detail alone is chilling.
Inside, he reportedly found a handwritten note that simply read, “Brian, I’ll be back…just us,” complete with a heart and signed, “Stone F.” Even more unsettling, the filing lists items Joseph allegedly discovered: wipes, a beer bottle, a red backpack, a bottle of HIV medication with someone else’s name, an earring, and hospital discharge paperwork belonging to a stranger. Joseph immediately reported this disturbing incident to hotel staff, the local non-emergency police, and Smith’s management team. Shockingly, the complaint claims that after these reports, a tour management member “shamed” him and then informed him he was being terminated.
Will Smith’s Attorney Categorically Denies Allegations
On January 1st, Will Smith’s attorney, Allen B. Grodsky, released a statement to People denying Joseph’s allegations outright. Grodsky didn’t mince words, calling them “false, baseless, and reckless.” He vowed to use “all legal means available” to address the claims and bring “the truth to light.” As of now, Smith himself hasn’t personally commented on the lawsuit, leaving his attorney’s strong denial to speak for him.
