#Socialites, come get into this: President Donald Trump recently set his Truth Social feed ablaze. He’s calling for nothing less than the arrest, trial, and even execution-level punishment for six Democratic lawmakers.
Why all the drama? These lawmakers appeared in a video, urging U.S. service members to reject what they called “unlawful orders.” Donald Trump wasn’t having it, unleashing his trademark caps-lock fury. He declared it “SEDITIOUS BEHAVIOR AT THE HIGHEST LEVEL,” demanding, “Each one of these traitors to our Country should be ARRESTED AND PUT ON TRIAL. Their words cannot be allowed to stand – We won’t have a Country anymore!!! An example MUST BE SET.”
But the former president didn’t stop there. He went on a repost spree, sharing 16 posts, one of which explicitly called for the lawmakers to be hanged, suggesting they should be punished “like GEORGE WASHINGTON WOULD.” Trump later doubled down on his own account, writing: “SEDITIOUS BEHAVIOR, punishable by DEATH!” Talk about raising the stakes.
This fiery exchange ignited after a video surfaced featuring a group of Democratic lawmakers with serious chops. We’re talking Sens. Elissa Slotkin (D-Mich.) and Mark Kelly (D-Ariz.), along with Reps. Jason Crow (D-Colo.), Chrissy Houlahan (D-Penn.), Maggie Goodlander (D-N.H.), and Chris Deluzio (D-Penn.). The kicker? All six boast military or national security backgrounds, which only amplified the weight of their message.
In that video, they spoke directly to U.S. service members and intelligence professionals, sharing a crucial message:
“We know you are under enormous stress and pressure right now… Americans trust their military. But that trust is at risk… Like us, you all swore an oath to protect and defend this Constitution… Our laws are clear, you can refuse illegal orders.”
This warning came amid Trump’s continued deployment of federalized National Guard troops to cities like Washington, Chicago, and Portland. His stated goals? Cracking down on crime and increasing deportations. Democratic officials, however, have been quick to label these deployments as illegal, with some already taking their fight to the courts to halt the operations.
Clearly, Trump was visibly heated and in no mood to back down. He later wrote: “This is really bad, and Dangerous to our Country. Their words cannot be allowed to stand. SEDITIOUS BEHAVIOR FROM TRAITORS!!! LOCK THEM UP???”
