BigXthaPlug landed back in jail Friday after police say he was caught driving while intoxicated and carrying marijuana. The Dallas-based rapper’s arrest marks another setback in what’s been a tumultuous stretch for the artist.
According to jail records, BigXthaPlug was booked into Collin County Jail in Texas on Friday by the Allen Police Department. The charges include driving while intoxicated, marijuana possession of less than 2 ounces, and unlawful possession of a firearm. His real name is Xavier Darnell Landum.
The timing couldn’t have been worse. On the same day as his arrest, organizers of the Country Rising Festival in Canada announced BigX wouldn’t be performing, citing a “personal emergency” for his last-minute cancellation. The absence now takes on a different context given the circumstances.
