Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds reportedly felt “completely humiliated” after missing Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s star-studded wedding at Madison Square Garden. The couple’s absence from the July 2-3 celebration marked a turning point in what was once considered one of Hollywood’s closest friendships.
Everyone noticed they weren’t there. Swift’s wedding brought together major names like Gigi Hadid, Bradley Cooper, Paul McCartney, and Steven Spielberg—but Lively and Reynolds were notably absent. A source told Rob Shuter’s Naughty But Nice that the couple may “never forgive Taylor Swift,” and insiders claim their omission was impossible to miss.
Instead, Lively and Reynolds were in Lake Placid, New York, where their 6-year-old daughter Betty competed in a horse show. The family shares three other children: daughters James, 11, and Inez, 9, and son Olin, 3.
The snub hit differently because Lively and Swift were once genuinely close. Swift served as godmother to Lively’s children. The families vacationed together and celebrated holidays side by side. That kind of bond doesn’t just fade away quietly.
But their friendship reportedly cooled in 2025 after Swift got pulled into Lively’s legal battle with Justin Baldoni. Sources said the women were “taking some space,” and later reports suggested they stopped speaking entirely.
Lively had accused her It Ends With Us costar and director of sexual harassment and retaliation—claims Baldoni denied. He responded with a $400 million defamation lawsuit against Lively, Reynolds, and others. A judge dismissed the case in June 2025. Most of Lively’s personal claims against Baldoni were dismissed in April 2026, with remaining claims settled the following month.
Now Lively is seeking over $8 million in legal fees and costs. The whole situation has left deep wounds on multiple fronts.
