Our girl Cardi B is setting the record straight in court, fam. The Bronx queen recently took the stand in a civil trial, facing off against a former security guard, Emani Ellis. Ellis is claiming Cardi came at her during a 2018 incident, and Cardi’s got her own version of events.
Cardi says the drama popped off when she was four months pregnant, heading to her OB-GYN in Beverly Hills. According to Cardi, Ellis started following her, phone out, recording. That’s when things got heated in the hallway. Straight up disrespect!
The Grammy-winning rapper owned up to calling Ellis a “bitch”—but swears the beef stayed verbal. No hands thrown, period.
“We got in each other’s faces, but I never touched her,” Cardi testified, keeping it real.
But Ellis is telling a different story. She claims Cardi swung on her, even slicing her cheek with those signature long nails. Cardi shut that down real quick, pointing out that Ellis was “way bigger” than her, and there’s no way she’d try to physically attack. Facts are facts!
Cardi also said she never actually saw this alleged recording Ellis was making. Still, the situation escalated enough that it’s now playing out in court.
The trial has everyone on social media talking, debating whether it was just words flying or if Ellis really got a scratch from Cardi’s claws. You know how the internet do!
