D4vd murder charges have officially been filed against David Burke in connection with the death of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas. Prosecutors have been building this case for months following the discovery of Celeste’s remains in September 2025.
Burke is facing first-degree murder with special circumstances, and if convicted, could receive life without parole or even face the death penalty. Prosecutors are still deciding whether to pursue capital punishment. Additional charges include sexual offenses involving a minor and mutilation of a body. The investigation started when a Tesla abandoned in the Hollywood Hills was towed to an impound lot. Authorities discovered decomposed human remains in the vehicle’s front trunk, later identified as Celeste. Family members said Celeste had been missing for over a year and had been communicating with someone named David before her disappearance.
At the time, D4vd was on tour promoting his album “Withered” and continued performing publicly while the investigation was underway. Authorities later searched a home connected to Burke’s management team, seizing electronic devices and other materials related to the case.
Burke remains in custody without bail. His family and legal team have denied all allegations against him as the case moves toward trial.
