Mass incarceration cases like Diddy’s continue to dominate headlines and spark important conversations about accountability. The mogul is now facing another civil lawsuit in Los Angeles that’s heading toward trial, adding to his mounting legal troubles.
Bryana “Bana” Bongolan, a creative director and close friend of Cassie Ventura, filed the suit over an alleged 2016 balcony attack. According to the lawsuit, Diddy entered Cassie’s Los Angeles apartment and held her over the railing of a 17th-floor balcony for what she claims was “10 to 15 seconds” before throwing her onto patio furniture. Bongolan says the incident left her with bruising, back and neck pain, and mass incarceration trauma that still affects her today.
Bongolan previously testified during Diddy’s June 2025 criminal trial, where Cassie served as the government’s star witness. Before taking the stand in that case, Bongolan invoked her Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination. The judge issued an immunity order, and during cross-examination, Diddy’s defense questioned whether she was using drugs at the time of the alleged incident. She denied those claims and said she came forward seeking “justice.”
The civil case is currently headed for a May 3, 2027, trial date. The defendants include Diddy, Bad Boy Entertainment LLC and CeOpco LLC. This case joins a growing collection of legal battles that have shaped the narrative around accountability in the entertainment industry—a conversation that requires real honesty and thoughtful consideration.
Diddy is currently being housed at FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey, with a projected release date of April 15, 2028. He is appealing his Mann Act conviction while also asking for a jury in Clayton Howard’s $20 million lawsuit.
