Yaya Mayweather wants the internet to retire one storyline for good. The 24-year-old daughter of Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Melissa Brim recently spoke out after a viral video showed her vibing to NBA YoungBoy, the father of her son. In the clip, she’s rapping along word for word to his track in Houston, and naturally, the internet had thoughts.
When an X user claimed the video proved she still had feelings for him, Yaya decided to set the record straight. She hopped online to respond with clarity: “no i don’t want to still be with my child’s father, no i’m not still in love with him, no i’m not obsessed that ship has sailed. so can we please let that narrative go? i just enjoy the music like everyone else, that’s it nothing more to it. thanks for coming to my ted talk.” It’s the kind of direct energy we appreciate—no room for speculation or NBA YoungBoy discourse that doesn’t belong to her.
The two share Kentrell DeSean Gaulden Jr., 4, and have clearly moved on to separate chapters. YoungBoy, whose real name is Kentrell DeSean Gaulden, is now married to Jazlyn Mychelle Hayes, with whom he welcomed his 13th child in February. He also has children with several other former partners.
The Louisiana rapper has been on an incredible run, sending multiple projects to No. 1 on the Billboard 200, including AI YoungBoy 2, 38 Baby 2, Top, and Sincerely, Kentrell. In 2025, Billboard reported that he had more charting albums on the Billboard 200 than any rapper in the chart’s history—a testament to his consistent output and influence in hip hop biography conversations.
