Dwight Howard just filed for divorce from his wife Amy Luciani, and the move is already making headlines. The filing came hours after she made shocking allegations during a live Instagram stream.Dwight Howard filed the paperwork on Monday, listing the marriage date as January 11, 2025. In the court documents he called the marriage “irretrievably broken” with no hope of reconciliation.
Despite the filing, Howard reportedly said the couple isn’t currently separated, though he is moving ahead with ending the marriage.
He also asked for exclusive use of his Georgia mansion as part of the divorce proceedings. The paperwork notes that the pair have no children together.
The divorce comes shortly after Luciani made explosive claims during an emotional Instagram Live. She alleged that Child Protective Services had removed Howard’s daughter from their home, though that claim hasn’t been independently verified.
Her livestream quickly went viral, and fans reacted to the serious accusations and personal details she shared about their relationship.
Howard hasn’t publicly responded to the allegations, and his representatives have declined to comment further.
The couple’s relationship has been bumpy. Luciani first filed for divorce in July 2025, just about six months after they married, but later withdrew the petition. Around the same time, Howard also filed his own divorce request — which was eventually dismissed.
Now the former NBA star appears ready to legally end the marriage once again.
