Future Faces Paternity Case: Ex Demands Child Support

Future is once again at the center of multiple legal and personal battles involving the mothers of his children, with new court filings and allegations painting a complicated picture of his ongoing family matters.

One of the most recent developments involves his ex, Layla Sanad, who has filed a paternity suit in Florida claiming the rapper is the father of her 9-year-old son. According to court documents, Layla says she and Future were in a romantic relationship and had a child together in 2017, identified as K.W. She is now asking the court to formally establish paternity and order child support, including up to two years of retroactive payments.

Layla also claims Future previously admitted to being the child’s father. However, the situation is far from straightforward. In January 2026, Future filed legal documents requesting that the Florida case be dismissed and moved to Arizona, arguing that both Layla and the child reside there. He also noted that he had already initiated his own legal case in Arizona.

In those Arizona filings, Future acknowledged being the father of a child named Kash Wilburn and stated that he has been voluntarily paying $3,500 per month in child support. The court has not yet ruled on whether the case will proceed in Florida or be տեղափոխed to Arizona, leaving the legal battle unresolved for now.

At the same time, a separate and more personal dispute is unfolding with another ex, Brittni Mealy, who has made serious claims about Future’s relationship with their 13-year-old son, Prince. In a letter submitted to legal teams and included in court filings dated April 7, 2026, Brittni alleges that Future has not seen or meaningfully communicated with their son in over 16 months.

She strongly denied any accusations that she blocked access, stating that Future has had every opportunity to maintain contact. According to Brittni, he has not called, checked on his son’s education or well-being, or participated in important aspects of his life, including school meetings, birthdays, and other major milestones.

Brittni further claims that Future has distanced himself even more by changing his phone number and allegedly instructing those around him not to facilitate communication between him and his son. She also alleges that individuals in his circle were discouraged from maintaining relationships with the child, and that one person was even removed from his team after forming a bond with Prince.

The dispute also extends into financial and legal obligations. Earlier this year, Brittni accused Future of failing to comply with a court order requiring him to secure a $500,000 life insurance policy benefiting their son. In response, Future’s legal team denied the claim, asserting that the policy had, in fact, been obtained.

These overlapping cases highlight a broader pattern of ongoing legal challenges surrounding Future’s family life. The rapper, who reportedly has at least seven children, has previously been involved in multiple custody and support disputes over the years. Among his children is Future Jr., whom he shares with Ciara. In recent years, that child has taken the last name of Ciara’s husband, Russell Wilson.

As these cases continue to unfold in multiple states, they raise ongoing questions about jurisdiction, responsibility, and the complexities that come with high-profile family disputes. With court decisions still pending and allegations continuing to surface, this situation remains fluid—and far from resolved.
