Love Island USA season 7 alum Huda Mustafa and reality TV personality Louis Russell are calling it quits. The two confirmed their split to TMZ on Wednesday after dating following her time in the villa.
“We want to share that after taking time to reflect on what’s best for us both, we have mutually decided to part ways for the time being,” they said in a joint statement. Huda is focusing on her daughter, music, and the exciting opportunities ahead, while Louis is centered on fatherhood and future projects. Both said they remain friends with utmost respect and love for one another. Check out more on Love Island USA breakups and reality TV drama.
Huda, who shares daughter Arleigh with ex Noah Sheline, gained wider attention on Love Island USA, finishing third with Chris Seeley. Their connection ended during the finale. Louis previously appeared on Too Hot to Handle and later joined Perfect Match season 3.
The relationship had its share of drama. In 2025, Huda apologized after appearing to laugh during a livestream in which a caller used a racial slur about costar Olandria Carthen. She explained the laugh was “a nervous, uncomfortable reaction” — the kind of moment that tests your composure in real time.
Louis has also navigated family court matters involving ex Nicole Olivera and their son, Luka. Earlier this month, he requested that his custody case against Olivera be dismissed. Court records seemingly backed up Nicole’s claims that Huda was harassing Louis and threatening to injure herself if he didn’t leave the apartment and come to her.
It’s a messy situation all around. Sometimes reality TV connections just don’t translate to lasting partnerships, and that’s okay.
