J. Cole has canceled his Sacramento concert following a fatal trucking accident involving a member of his touring crew. The incident occurred Thursday morning on Interstate 5 near Woodland, California, when a big rig hauling equipment for the show overturned around 6:00 AM.
In a statement, Cole’s team confirmed the cancellation of his scheduled performance at Golden 1 Center on August 27. “Following the tragic passing of a member of the touring crew in a trucking accident this morning,” the team wrote, the show will not go on.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the driver was the truck’s only occupant when it drifted onto the right shoulder of southbound I-5. When the driver attempted to steer the vehicle back onto the freeway, the rig overturned. Emergency responders extricated the driver from the wreckage, and a helicopter was dispatched to the scene, but the driver was pronounced dead.
