Jay-Z is completely at ease after picking himself to perform the Super Bowl halftime show. He’s not letting any outside noise put him under pressure.
We caught up with Hov in New York City on Tuesday, and when our photographer asked if he felt any pressure to deliver a top-notch performance at Super Bowl LXI in February, his answer was refreshingly simple.
Jay smiled and laughed it off. No pressure, he said, even with millions tuning in from around the world.
When asked how he plans to prepare for the show at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, Jay-Z made it clear this is just another performance. For the GOAT, it’s business as usual.
Jay-Z confirmed what most already suspected on Monday night when he announced himself as the halftime performer. Through his Roc Nation production company, he curates the acts and selects the talent. This time, he picked himself.
When you’re the one making the decisions, the pressure tends to disappear.
