Megan Thee Stallion is opening up about her time dating NBA star Klay Thompson, and it doesn’t sound like the relationship was what either of them needed. In a new interview with InStyle, the rapper was candid about why things didn’t work out between them, describing herself as being on edge the entire time.
“I think I just kept trying to make pieces fit that didn’t belong,” Megan explained. “I was trying to fit myself into someone else’s life, and I was losing myself a little bit. I am now in the space of finding me again.”

The breakup seems to have sparked some reflection about what Megan Thee Stallion deserves in a relationship moving forward. She’s clear that respect is non-negotiable, and she shouldn’t settle for being with someone who doesn’t value her the way she values herself. Her partner should be grateful to have her, she said, not the other way around.
Fidelity is also crucial to her. During the interview, Megan reiterated her earlier implication that Klay was unfaithful, making it clear that cheating isn’t something she’ll tolerate. She’s looking for an actual partner, not someone she has to carry or support, but rather a true equal who shows up for her the way she shows up for them.

Megan also shared some wisdom about moving past infidelity. When someone cheats, she emphasized, it has nothing to do with the person who was hurt. It doesn’t diminish their value or attractiveness. The blame rests entirely on the person who chose to step outside the relationship.
Rather than dwelling on the past, Megan seems focused on enjoying the present. There’s still time left in summer, and she’s intent on making the most of it without any regrets.

As for Klay, he was playing for the Dallas Mavericks when they were together. The NBA guard has since signed with the Miami Heat, so he’s moved on both professionally and personally. Something tells us finding a date in South Beach won’t be difficult for him.
