This exchange reveals Epstein forwarding an email chain that started with Reuters News’ David Ingram. Ingram had reached out to Martin G. Weinberg, giving a heads-up that Reuters was gearing up to report on the freshly filed lawsuit, which accused Trump and Epstein of sexually assaulting a minor. Reuters wanted to speak with Epstein or get a statement on his behalf.
Weinberg quickly warned Epstein that the federal court case was about to hit the press within hours. Epstein then forwarded the whole chain to Wolff with a terse, “Here we go.” Wolff’s response? He reportedly said, “Well, I guess if there’s anybody who can wave this away, it’s Donald. Let me know if there’s anything I can do.”
Donald Trump And Jeffrey Epstein Sued For Allegedly Raping A 13-Year-Old Girl
The alleged victim, identified as Jane Doe, also known as Katie Johnson, first filed her complaint in California on April 26, 2016. However, she quickly withdrew it, reportedly after receiving “threatening phone calls on her cell phone.” She refiled the suit in New York on June 20, 2016.
This version of the suit included a declaration from Jane Doe herself, plus a second statement from a pseudonymous Tiffany Doe. Tiffany claimed Epstein hired her throughout the 1990s to recruit young women for his parties. Despite these declarations, the New York complaint was withdrawn by September 2016, reportedly because it was never served. The case was refiled again later that month.
Politico reported that the second and third versions of the lawsuit accused Trump of a single act of rape but also alleged “sexual contact” with Jane Doe on three other occasions. Online reports indicate Doe dropped the case yet again in November 2016, citing fear of retaliation and threats.
Even though the case was dropped, Jane Doe/Johnson’s lawyer stands by her story. According to Tara Palmeri, the lawyer firmly stated, “There’s no doubt in my mind she told the truth.” Palmeri also noted that Trump continues to deny the allegations. Unfortunately, Doe/Johnson’s lawyer hasn’t heard from her since the suit was dropped due to alleged threats. Now that Trump signed the bill to release the Epstein files, this chilling case is resurfacing and going viral all over again.
