Paul Pierce’s Ex Demands $30K Monthly Support

Paul Pierce says a $30,000 monthly child support payment would not reflect his current finances as he faces a major income drop in 2026. The former Boston Celtics star is navigating some serious financial shifts, and honestly, it’s a reminder of how even Paul Pierce has to reckon with real-world money moves.

Pierce opposed ex-girlfriend Princess Santiago’s request in new court filings, where she also asked for $100,000 in legal fees. He proposed paying approximately $4,145 per month for their newborn son, King Rafael Santiago Pierce. It’s the kind of custody and support conversation that impacts so many families navigating co-parenting arrangements.

Although Pierce earned more than $200 million during his NBA career, those playing days ended in 2017 and his income has steadily declined. He reported making $1.5 million in 2025—a significant shift from his peak earning years.

Pierce said payments from Fox Sports 1, where his employment ended in 2021, will continue only through September 2026. After that, he expects his income to fall by nearly half, which is a major consideration in these negotiations.

The retired athlete said he already has “substantial ongoing financial obligations.” According to the filing, he supports four other children and pays a combined $44,000 each month in spousal and child support—a responsibility that weighs heavily on his current financial picture.

Pierce said he has voluntarily given Santiago $5,000 per month. He also alleged that she earns more than $400,000 annually, adding another layer to the discussion about what’s fair and sustainable.

The former couple is also divided over custody. Pierce requested joint legal and physical custody, while Santiago is seeking sole custody. These personal decisions matter just as much as the financial ones.
